Jalen Milroe explains viral Heisman video as an emotional moment
Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe made one of the biggest plays of the college football season this past Saturday to beat Auburn, a play that he believes should have him in the Heisman discussion.
“Let’s f****** go! Give me the Heisman! Give me that motherf******!” Milroe said, hollering.
Milroe found Isaiah Bond in the corner of the end zone on fourth-and-goal from the 31 to give the Crimson Tide the lead and keep their national title hopes alive.
On Monday, Jalen Milroe reflected on his postgame comments about the Heisman and shared what was going through his head.
“That was an emotional moment,” Jalen Milroe said. “All about now, just fixing what I can improve on from Auburn. There’s a lot of things that I need to improve to keep pushing, keep moving towards our common goal and try to get there as much as possible.”
While the pass to Bond was impressive, it was far from a perfect performance by Alabama in the Iron Bowl. Auburn nearly upset the Crimson Tide, a week after losing by 21 to New Mexico State.
Milroe is well aware that there is plenty he can clean up before Saturday’s SEC Championship game against Georgia.
“That was an emotional answer and just looking forward to the challenge that’s ahead of us this week,” he said.

Jalen Milroe shares more on viral moment at end of Iron Bowl
Jalen Milroe shared more on his emotional reaction to winning the Iron Bowl in the final seconds and further explained his comments about the Heisman.
“Things came out that was all through emotion. So, that’s number one. But the biggest thing was that I was just so proud of the guys and to be in the moment.”
In general, Jalen Milroe is not seeking out individual honors. Instead, he emphasized that his focus is on improving and succeeding on the task at hand as a team.
“The biggest thing that I wanted to do was just be the best teammate I can be and worry about the task at hand. And the task at hand is trying to improve from Auburn and build on the good things that won the game and also the negative plays that happened in the game. Moving forward, the biggest thing is just refocusing and worrying about the task at hand.”
The task at hand this week for Alabama is a tall one. The Crimson Tide have a game against Georgia in the SEC Championship Game coming up. Going into the game, the Bulldogs have won 29 straight games and the last two national championships.
