Alabama is far from guaranteed to make the College Football Playoff with three losses on their resume, but Jalen Milroe is making the Crimson Tide’s case.

The quarterback and his teammates bounced back from their loss to Oklahoma with a win at home over Auburn in the Iron Bowl in Week 14. With their final chance to prove themselves in the rear view, Milroe elaborated on why Alabama deserves a ticket to the dance while speaking with the media after the victory.

“I think we’re a team that’s going to enjoy this win. It’s not for us to decide, you know, what our future looks like,” Milroe said, via The Next Round on X. “But we’re a team that won five of the last six games, and shown tremendous grit and commitment level, from everybody on the whole football team. So, we’ve just got to keep on improving, and also just worry about our controllables. Not uncontrollables.

“I mean, that’s so important moving forward for our football team, and being able to just be where our feet are. Enjoy the win that we just had against a tough opponent, here at home, and just worry about our controllables.”

As you can tell, Milroe and the Crimson Tide aren’t paying much mind to what they can’t control, keeping their focus on the field. It certainly worked out in their favor this past weekend, as Alabama was able to send Auburn packing with a 14-point loss.

Elsewhere, the Crimson Tide received some help from their rest of the college football world, specifically the ACC. Both Miami and Clemson lost, and that could potentially open the door for Alabama or fellow three-loss SEC teams like the Ole Miss Rebels or South Carolina Gamecocks to get into the Playoff.

While Alabama won’t have another shot to prove their worth to the Selection Committee, Jalen Milroe and his teammates believe the Crimson Tide have done enough. Now, all that’s left to do is sit back and hope conference championship weekend goes in their favor, and there’s enough chaos to get them into the College Football Playoff.
