Jalen Milroe and Alabama came up short to Michigan in the College Football Playoff semifinals 27-20 in overtime. Despite going 15-0 and winning it all, some pointed to Michigan’s alleged sign stealing schedule last season as the reason why they won.

Well, Milroe joined the Bussin With the Boys podcast when they visited the Crimson Tide during spring ball and it came up. The quarterback was very honest about being reflective after the game and using it as fuel.

Milroe was then asked by host Taylor Lewan: “do you think Michigan cheated?”

“It don’t matter, they won,” Milroe said repeatedly after some playful jabs from Lewan. “They won. It don’t matter, they won.”

On the final play of the game, trailing by seven in the first overtime, Milroe faced fourth and goal from the four yard line.

From the shotgun, Milroe took a low snap and called his own number, running a quarterback draw up the middle.

He appeared to have Roydell Williams open in the flat. However, there was no guarantee he’d catch and run to the end zone against the Wolverines’ defense.

Milroe was asked if that snap was directly into his stomach would he have thrown the ball?

“We’ll never know,” Milroe said. “I’ll be real like, that truly made me really love the coaching staff because you can see how much they believed in me. It is probably one of the most impactful plays of our whole season. And the balls in my hands on the last play of the game. That speaks a lot about our coaches that believe in me. So I took it as a positive although we came out short.”

Milroe in no way shape or form said Alabama was satisfied with last year. Despite a new era of Crimson Tide football under Kalen DeBoer, they believe they’re in the thick of the national title picture.

“The biggest thing we’ve got to do is look from last year, what’s some things we did positively, what’s some things we did negatively?” Milroe said recently on the Paul Finebaum Show. “The biggest thing we want to do is turn our strengths even stronger and our weaknesses to a strength. I think we’re doing a really good job attacking the day, coming in the building eager to learn and we have a great coaching staff that’s going to put us in the position to be successful.”
