Jalen Milroe has fully embraced Alabama‘s ‘LANK’ motto. If you aren’t convinced, he wore a shirt to prove it.

‘LANK’ stands for ‘Let All Naysayers Know’ — and ever since his six-touchdown performance against Kentucky last weekend, all naysayers were put on notice and promptly silenced. Milroe and his teammates came up with the saying this offseason.

Milroe finished the Week 11 victory with 234 yards and three touchdowns on 15-of-22 passing while running the ball eight times for 36 yards and another three scores. Despite the success he saw — and records he set — Milroe wasn’t satisfied with his performance against the Wildcats.

“No, I’m real frustrated,” Milroe said postgame. “I’ve got a lot of things I’ve got to fix and get better at. Missed a couple things down the field, missed some ball that I shouldn’t be missing. I hold myself to a higher standard, so I’ve got to improve and fix some things [this week].”

Of course, the ‘LANK’ motto completely embodies how the Crimson Tide’s season has gone. Everybody wrote off Alabama after Week 2’s loss to Texas. More importantly, everyone — including Nick Saban — wrote off Milroe by sending him to the bench the following week against USF.

Milroe earned his job back the following week — and Alabama hasn’t looked back, rattling off eight consecutive wins since losing to the Longhorns in Tuscaloosa. Now, they’re an SEC Championship away from making it back to the College Football Playoffs for the first time since 2021.

While he became the first Alabama quarterback in history with three rushing touchdowns and three passing touchdowns in a single game against Kentucky — his Week 10 performance against LSU might have been even more impressive.

Milroe was masterful on Saturday against the Tigers, completing 15-of-23 passes for 219 yards throughout the 42-28 win. While he could not throw a touchdown pass during the contest — he more than made up for it on the ground boasting 20 carries for 155 yards and four touchdowns, rivaling LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels‘ production in the process, which is an impressive feat given Daniels’ rising status as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this season.

Alabama will look to continue to silence the naysayers as they defend home field this weekend against Chattanooga. The opening kickoff is scheduled for Noon ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
