WATCH: Jase McClellan's 81-yard touchdown gives Alabama the lead vs Texas

Alabama got the ball right back against Texas on Saturday after a no-call went in its favor. Jase McClellan didn’t wait long to capitalize.

On the first play of the drive, McClellan took a Bryce Young handoff 81 yards to the house to give the Crimson Tide a 10-3 lead over the Longhorns with 2:34 to play in the first quarter. It came at a good time for Alabama, which saw Texas kick a game-tying field goal on the previous drive to make it a 3-3 ball game.

That was McClellan’s second carry of the game after getting one look on Alabama’s first sequence of the game. Jahmyr Gibbs saw a majority of the action early on, totaling three carries and three receptions to start the game.

Controversial no-call stalls Texas drive vs Alabama

Texas looked like it was gearing up to take a lead over Alabama in the first quarter thanks to some penalties against the Crimson Tide. However, a no-call in the end zone changed things entirely.

Quinn Ewers looked to complete a pass to Ja’Tavion Sanders for a touchdown, but Kool-Aid McKinstry broke it up, resulting in a game-tying field goal. But there was quite a bit of contact in the end zone, leading to questions about potential pass interference.

The referees kept the flags in their pockets, and Bert Auburn made the field goal to tie things up 3-3 in the first quarter.

Alabama got on the board first with a field goal of its own, and Texas had opportunities to take a lead, including a nice pass from Ewers that Xavier Worthy dropped in the end zone. Ultimately, the Longhorns settled for the field goal before kicking the ball back to the Crimson Tide.
