No. 2 Alabama is out to a big early lead on the road at No. 20 Arkansas, with the offense and quarterback Bryce Young firing out of the gates. But the Crimson Tide did temporarily lose a key player, with a Jase McClellan injury taking him to the injury tent briefly.

McClellan had two carries for eight yards before heading into the tent with team trainers.

“Yeah, quick update on running back Jase McClellan,” CBS sideline reporter Jenny Dell said on the broadcast. “He was hurt on that last series, it looked like he wanted to go back in but the trainers instead escorted him over to the injury tent. He currently remains in there. I’m told it’s an upper-body injury and he should return at some point.”

Young and the Crimson Tide have done everything they can to shut the rowdy home crowd up early on. Alabama jumped out to an early 14-0 lead in the fourth quarter.

Young has shredded the Razorbacks in the secondary, scoring on a 47-yard touchdown pass against man coverage when he found receiver Kobe Prentice on a simple slant on a blitz-beater. Prentice torched safety Myles Slusher on the score.

The Crimson Tide added another touchdown a few minutes later after a 53-yard hookup from Young to freshman Isaiah Bond on a deep bomb moved Alabama into the red zone.

Young ran one in toward the left corner of the end zone on an 8-yard touchdown run on the very next play to extend the lead to 14-0. That lead held at the end of the first quarter, with the Crimson Tide once again driving into Razorbacks’ territory as the quarter ended.

Alabama’s drive ended after the Arkansas defense forced a stop early in the second quarter. Crimson Tide kicker Will Reichard missed a 53-yard field goal attempt wide right, keeping the score 14-0 with 13:16 left in the first half at the time of this publication.

UPDATE, 4:35 p.m. ET: McClellan re-entered the contest early in the second quarter, taking a pair of carries that each gained a yard.
