Jason Jackson addresses Alabama's mindset as team prepares for Super Regional

Jason Jackson provided a peek behind the curtain at Alabama‘s mindset ahead of the Super Regional.

With a chance to go to the College World Series, the Crimson Tide will have to go through the top team in the nation in the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. While that sounds daunting, Jackson and his squad are keeping their emotions in check, as he explained to the media where the Crimson Tide’s mindset is at.

“I don’t think you have to — the guys are going to be fired up. They know that we’re playing in a Super Regional. We’re not going to try to downplay that,” explained Jackson, asked if Alabama will treat the Super Regional like any other series. “I think that the beauty of this team, or one of the things that’s made this team so special is they are an older team with a lot of experience, and even though they haven’t been in a Super Regional, they carry themselves like they’ve been there. I think we’ll do a good job this week of keeping everything, as much as we can, business as usual.

“But I know there’s going to be some extra excitement. We’re not going to pretend that there’s not. But I think our focus, and what these guys have been able to do, is continue to keep the main thing that main thing. Focus on going one at a time. Go win Game 1 and go from there.”

Alas, Jason Jackson has done a phenomenal job with Alabama thus far, and nobody will be doubting them against Wake Forest. It’ll be a tough challenge, but the Crimson Tide are up for it, and ready to try to move on the Omaha.

Furthermore, Alabama baseball interim coach Jason Jackson doesn’t take for granted the support the fans have given the team this postseason. The Crimson Tide played their final home game of the 2023 campaign on Sunday, defeating Boston College 8-0 to advance to their first Super Regional since 2010. 

Alabama sold out every game of the Regional it hosted at Sewell-Thomas Stadium this past weekend, with 5,800 fans gathering Sunday to watch the Crimson Tide move on.

As the team hits the road hoping to punch its ticket to Omaha this week, Jackson explained how important that fan support has been for them.

“It’s been awesome to see the way our university, our fanbase, the community has rallied around these guys,” he said. “I’ve always felt like this place is special. We have such a great culture here.

“I’ve always felt like that and then the past month or so you’ve seen it even more so than I thought. So it means a ton and I know these guys feel the same way.”
