It’s December, meaning the holiday season is here. Friday, Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton got into the giving spirit.

Burton helped hand out presents at Crossroads Ministry in Tuscaloosa at an event that provides gifts to children with parents in prison. It was a way to give back after his first season with the Crimson Tide following his transfer from Georgia.

Burton appeared in 12 games this year for Alabama, hauling in 37 receptions for 590 yards — a mark that ranked second on the Crimson Tide roster — and six touchdowns. Now, he has to decide whether he wants to return to Alabama next year.

Although a report surfaced earlier this week saying Burton would be returning next year, On3’s BamaInsider reported it’s not a done deal yet. However, “there’s a good chance” Burton will return for his senior season.

If that happens, it’d be quite a boost to a depleted Crimson Tide wide receiver room.

Three Alabama receivers — JoJo Earle, Traeshon Holden and Christian Leary — are all in the transfer portal. Earle could garner plenty of interest in the portal as the No. 22-ranked player to transfer this cycle, according to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.

Alabama is currently getting ready for its bowl game after missing out on the College Football Playoff this year. The Crimson Tide, which went 10-2 during the regular season, will take on Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl. But Nick Saban and Co. are waiting on two other decisions for that game as Bryce Young and Will Anderson still haven’t made their NFL Draft decisions.

However, ESPN’s Pete Thamel hinted a decision could come sooner than later as Alabama gets ready for the bowl game.

“I would think we’re going to know by the time they start bowl practice, right?” Thamel said on The Paul Finebaum Show on Wednesday. “The intentions are going to have to be declared. I don’t know the specific date on that, but it’s int he upcoming days here at Alabama. I think it’s going to be interesting, if we got to see Ty Simpson. They really like him there. It doesn’t sound like Alabama has been particularly aggressive in the transfer portal for some of these players.”
