If you’re looking for advice on how to beat Alabama, Jimbo Fisher would be the guy to ask. The Texas A&M football coach led his team to a 41-38 victory against the Crimson Tide in Week 6.

So far, the Aggies are the only team to achieve that feat this season. But the Georgia Bulldogs will hope to become the second Monday, when they face Alabama in the national championship.

In a Friday appearance on the Paul Finebaum Show, Fisher discussed what he believes Georgia must do to earn a win.

“I think who gets out of the blocks is gonna be important,” he said. “Georgia’s gonna fell some pressure. They know it’s an opportunity for them. Alabama is very successful. Bryce Young is a tremendous player. But you lost (John) Metchie. You lose your right tackle and you’ve lost two corners since a couple of a weeks ago. I think that’s a different football team. At the same time, your quarterback is dynamic. Your receivers are dynamic. Who can step up at receiver for Alabama and provide what Metchie’s done? Is it possibly a tight end?

“I think Georgia not letting Alabama get off to a hot start where your quarterback has consistently gotta make plays (is the key). (George) Pickens is one of the receivers that continues to make players for Georgia. The tight end is dynamic and there’s gonna be a special teams play that’s probably gonna decide the game. It’s hard to beat somebody twice, but I do think Alabama has the ability. I think the matchup receiver-wise without Metchie is gonna be interesting. The matchup in the secondary and the ability to not let Bryce Young use his legs not only just to run, but to extend plays and use his arm.”

The national title game won’t be the first time Alabama and Georgia have met this season. The two schools also faced off in the SEC Championship Game, with the Bulldogs suffering their first loss of the season by score of 41-24.

The Crimson Tide have won six national championships in 15 years under coach Nick Saban. That includes a 26-23 victory against Georgia during the 2017 season.

Including SEC Championship Games, the two schools have met four times for a title since 2012. Alabama has won every single one. If Georgia wins, it not only achieves a national championship, but it’s first victory against the Tide since 2007.

That wouldn’t be the first milestone achieved at their expense this season, however. When Jimbo Fisher beat Alabama, he became the first former Saban assistant to beat his old boss.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on Monday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis Indiana.
