There’s plenty of talent in the SEC this season, and Alabama has plenty of it. As the Crimson Tide prepare to go against some impressive playmakers this season, Jordan Battle is ready to go.

Speaking at SEC Media Days, Battle said Alabama’s talent gets him ready to go against other tough opponents during the season. Last year, he had to go up against Jameson Williams and John Metchie in practice, and those reps translated to game action.

“I feel like every receiver we go against is tough,” Battle said. “Every day in practice, we go against tough receivers. We compete day in, day out on the field in practice, so I feel like that helps us on the field when we’re going against other teams. The fact that we compete every day in practice.”

This year, Alabama revamped its wide receiver room. The Crimson Tide had Ja’Corey Brooks on the roster, but hit the transfer portal to bring in Jermaine Burton from Georgia and Tyler Harrell from Louisville. Battle said they’ll make practice tough and, therefore, increase the level of competition.

“Burton, Brooks … Tyler Harrell, they’re all fast guys,” Battle said. “They’re all great route runners. Practice is going to be fun. The competition in practice every day is going to be fun. We have a great offense, we have a great defense. So just competing on scrimmages, practice every day is going to be fun. I just can’t wait for it.”

Jordan Battle reveals if Alabama is circling Texas A&M game on the calendar

Jordan Battle isn’t ready to circle October 8 on his calendar, but the Alabama star can feel the hype growing for their showdown with Texas A&M.

As if avenging their loss from last season wasn’t enough motivation, the war of words between Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher has added some extra juice to the matchup. However, the Crimson Tide star safety is treating it like any other game.

“We don’t circle dates on the calendar. We focus week-in and week-out on each game that we have coming up,” Battle said. “We have to know that we’re going to get every team’s best. So I don’t think we’re allowed to circle dates on the calendar. But just focusing on each game, trying to get better each week so we can get to that end goal, and that’s that championship that we’re all focusing on.”
