Kadyn Proctor injury update: Kalen DeBoer offers latest on Alabama OT ahead of ReliaQuest Bowl
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer provided the latest on offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, saying he expected the star lineman to play against Michigan.
Alabama takes on Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl and the Crimson Tide could have their best lineman back for the game. Proctor missed the first two games of Alabama’s 2024 season because of a shoulder injury.
He returned to the starting lineup in the Crimson Tide’s Week 3 road game at Wisconsin and started the remaining 10 games on Alabama’s regular-season schedule. Proctor was later selected as a second-team All-SEC honoree by the conference’s head coaches.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Proctor was a five-star recruit out of Des Moines (Iowa) Southeast Polk, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 1 overall prospect in the state, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 9 overall prospect in the class.
Kadyn Proctor expected to play for Alabama vs. Michigan
Proctor initially transferred from Alabama to Iowa but eventually back to Alabama this past offseason amid Nick Saban’s retirement and a wild NIL saga. Safe to say, the Crimson Tide were thrilled to keep him for 2024.

He’ll have to play one more season before he’s eligible for the NFL Draft.
With Proctor expected to be back, it’s a big boost to Alabama’s offense. While the Crimson Tide didn’t reach their goals of the College Football Playoff, DeBoer was thrilled with the team’s leadership stepping up preparing for Michigan.
“It’s extremely strong,” DeBoer said. “I can’t say enough of guys — whether they’re captains, unity council, guys who are seniors and this is it, to guys that are probably leaning towards the NFL. It says a lot about all of them wanting to come out and finish off strong.
“I think it goes back to them sticking it out and being the ones that stayed the course and believed in this place in the beginning back in January, and now, them knowing they need to finish what they started this season. That’s a commitment you make when you’re part of the football team here.”
