It’s been a difficult stretch for the Alabama Crimson Tide and head coach Kalen DeBoer, now losing two out of three games. That stretch has included some challenging games for quarterback Jalen Milroe against South Carolina and Tennessee.

Despite those recent struggles, DeBoer shared that Milroe is not being impacted by any injury that should prevent his ability to help the team compete and win.

“At this point in the year, I don’t think there’s many guys who play a lot of snaps who don’t have something and [are] just working through it,” Kalen DeBoer said. “But he’s more than capable. And as he goes through the week, you‘re just ready to play on Saturday. There‘s nothing that’s going to be holding him back from going out there and being able to help us get a win. I’m confident of that.”

Jalen Milroe has completed 41 of 68 passes in his last two games. He’s also thrown for 448 yards and two touchdowns to four interceptions. Alabama is 1-1 in those games. Milroe has also rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns in the last two games, with the majority of that production coming against South Carolina. In the recent game against Tennessee, specifically, Milroe’s turnovers were costly. He threw an interception into the end zone and, at the beginning of Alabama’s final drive of the game, threw another interception that ended the drive.

In his last four games, Milroe has now thrown six interceptions. That matches the total interceptions he threw in the entirety of the 2023 season.

Amid those struggles, Jalen Milroe did take ownership of the offensive issues during the loss to Tennessee.

“I’ve gotta take full ownership of that,” Milroe said. “When it comes to communication up front, communication to the guys around, I’ve gotta do better on my end, playing with better detail. Communication up front and allowing our guys to line up properly with the communication. So that’s something that going back, we’re just gonna build on and get better at and something that I acknowledge as we were playing. So it’s all about building, it’s all about rebuilding and also where we were not at our best today.”

Kalen DeBoer will need to get the Alabama offense back on track quickly. With two losses, the path to the College Football Playoff is getting much more challenging to navigate. The schedule also doesn’t get easier from here. Next week, Alabama will host Missouri before hitting the road to take on LSU in Death Valley.
