Kalen DeBoer has developed a reputation as a quarterback whisperer, and his latest project, Jalen Milore, is blossoming into a superstar since the coach has taken over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Milroe always had the tools, and that was evident throughout last season’s performance, where he led Alabama to the College Football Playoff, but DeBoer has cultivated the quarterback’s skills and turned him into one of the more intriguing prospects in all of college football, and that was on full display during the Crimson Tide’s victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in Week 5.

Against one of the best defenses in the country, Milroe completed 27-of-33 passes for 374 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing 16 times for 117 yards and two touchdowns, as well. During the latest episode of GoJo and Golic, DeBoer joined the show to elaborate on his view of his quarterback’s performance, and the evolution of Milroe’s game since his arrival in Tuscaloosa.

“He’s got the tools. He can spin it. He’s an accurate passer. He works hard. He’s got a lot of those tangibles, intangibles,” DeBoer stated, regarding Milroe. “But I think what he’s doing a good job of is just staying disciplined to what we’re asking him to do. Not trying to go above and beyond, when we say, ‘You need to read this, or go through this progression,’ he’s done a really good job. I think that’s one area where I’ve seen him improve. I’ve told him that.

“His eyes are in the right spot 99% of the time, and that gets you going down the right path. Now, it’s just a matter of letting the tools that you have, that talent that you have, take over. He’s staying within himself, and he’s trusting the guys around him. The offensive line has done a good job, and I think he’s feeling comfortable in the pocket.

“Doesn’t mean it’s perfect. There are some times he had to make some throws and stuff real quickly on Saturday, but that trust around you helps bring out the best in you, as well.”

As you can tell, Kalen DeBoer’s confidence in Jalen Milroe is immense, and the sky is the limit for the Alabama quarterback. He’ll lead the Crimson Tide into battle once again in Week 6 against Vanderbilt, as he looks to continue his incredible play against another SEC rival.
