Kalen DeBoer jokes about players knowing offensive calls due to College Football 25
First-year Alabama Crimson Tide head football coach Kalen DeBoer joined the Golic family, Mike Golic Sr. and Mike Golic Jr., on the Gojo and Golic Podcast to talk about the Crimson Tide’s upcoming 2024 campaign. During the interview, DeBoer touched on a number of topics, including how he believes he can follow the path laid out by former Alabama head coach Nick Saban to bring another national championship to Tuscaloosa. But all of the conversation was not solely fixated on winning a Natty this season.
During the interview, DeBoer addressed the competition he has seen from his players, which led to the Crimson Tide head coach’s surprising yet funny omission.
“You know, we’ve had some plays that we’ve run, and some of them, they know the repression,” said DeBoer. “And you’re wondering how they know that. So I guess there is an element to where it’s positive, too. Some of the things that they do away from the facility. But yeah, especially at the end of the summer when it first came out, I know they were all in. I’m sure there’s a lot more being played than what I realized even at this point, too.”
EA Sports college football 25 has been one of the biggest gaming title releases of the year. The game was well received after college football fans went some 11 years between title releases. While the fans of the Crimson Tide and other programs across the country are enjoying the game, it appears as if the Alabama players are doing the same and utilizing it as a study tool.
Greg McElroy describes what it would mean if Alabama loses three games in 2024
With three national championships in the past decade, Alabama has perhaps the highest standards of any program in the country. On Thursday, ESPN analyst Greg McElroy revealed what it would mean for the Crimson Tide if they lost three games in the regular season.

“There will be alarm bells and sirens going off because I think people look at the standard,” McElroy said. “The standard is the standard. I don’t think it’s changed just because Nick Saban is no longer there. It’s Kalen DeBoer‘s team now but the expectations remain high.”
It’s a nearly impossible task to fill Saban’s shoes. After taking over the reins in 2007, Saban led the Crimson Tide to six national championships, including three titles in the College Football Playoff era.
He nearly added another trophy to his collection last season, falling to Michigan in overtime in the CFP semifinal. The 72-year-old head coach also won a national title at LSU prior to his time in Tuscaloosa.
Saban won 201 games at Alabama — tied with Vince Dooley (Georgia) for the second-most wins at a single school in SEC history. Saban only trails Bear Bryant, who won 232 games in his 25 seasons with the Crimson Tide.
