Kalen DeBoer is set to experience the Third Saturday in October against Tennessee for the first time in his coaching career. Heading to Knoxville will be no easy task for him as Neyland Stadium is always rocking when Alabama comes to town. Unfortunately, there are a few injuries the Crimson Tide are dealing with heading into the game.

A couple wide receivers have been dealing with injuries, Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice. DeBoer listed them as probable heading into the Tennessee game, saying both are progressing as the days go on.

“Right now, I would say they’re probable,” DeBoer said during Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference. “Just continue to work through practices and feeling better and better about it each and every day.”

Neither of them played in Saturday’s game against South Carolina due to their respective injuries. Law also missed the Vanderbilt matchup while Prentice suffered his injury in Nashville. Getting both of them back against Tennessee would be a major boost for Jalen Milroe and the Alabama offense.

Prentice has been more productive of the two, catching eight passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. Law does have a score to his name too but has just two receptions for 41 yards. If there is an area where Law is really missed, it’s his blocking on the perimeter after fellow receivers catch passes or in the run game.

On the defensive side, Yhonzae Pierre was another player to miss the South Carolina win. His status is in a little more limbo according to DeBoer, not having an exact designation.

“He would still be up in the air right now,” DeBoer said. “Probably probable to questionable, somewhere in there.”

Pierre has recorded four tackles in five games played but has yet to get in the opposition backfield. There are some pass coverage statistics he has recorded, having two PBUs. Getting him back in the lineup would help a defensive front set to be challenged on Saturday.
