The Alabama offense got off to the races early against Arkansas in Week 5. In the process, Kobe Prentice notched a career milestone.

Prentice entered the game with 12 receptions and 119 yards to his credit and had 88 yards on his first two receptions against Arkansas. Considering Alabama has had to go without JoJo Earle and Tyler Harrell at receiver, Prentice is one of multiple young Crimson Tide players stepping up at the position early in the season.
Prentice was a big part of Alabama’s 2022 recruiting class, coming in as a four-star recruit and the No. 72 prospect in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Nick Saban shouts out Alabama freshmen who have embraced week-over-week progress
Prentice was one of the young Alabama players to garner praise from Nick Saban this week. He called out multiple freshman who have stepped up and made notable week-to-week progress.
“I don’t think it’s fair to point out one guy,” Saban said. “You’ve got a lot of freshmen who are trying to progress.
“Jaheim Oatis is playing a lot on the defensive line. Several receivers have made nice progress and have played. Kobe Prentice and Isaiah Bond. We’ve got other guys, Kendrick Law‘s making progress. Freshman running back has done really well, (Jamarion Miller), when he’s got a chance. (Tyler Booker) has played well when he’s played on the offensive line.”
