Lane Kiffin shows support for Alabama football vs Michigan in Rose Bowl CFP matchup
Ole Miss head coach and former Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin isn’t being shy about who he is supporting in the Rose Bowl.
Moments after Crimson Tide senior running back Jase McClellan scored a touchdown to give Alabama a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, Kiffin posted RTR on Twitter.

Lane Kiffin was the offensive coordinator at Alabama from 2014-16, helping the Crimson Tide win the 2015 national title.
From there, he was the head coach at Florida Atlantic from 2017-19, before being hired as the Ole Miss head coach in 2020. Kiffin just wrapped up his fourth season with the Rebels in impressive fashion.
Ole Miss pounded Penn State 38-25 in Saturday’s Peach Bowl in a game that the Rebels controlled throughout.
Kiffin is 34-15 in four seasons at Ole Miss and has a loaded roster returning in 2024. The Rebels have also added some talent from the transfer portal and should be one of the favorites to win the SEC next season.
It’s no surprise that Kiffin took to Twitter to show his support of Alabama. He frequently makes social media posts that create a buzz and had previously mentioned that he would be supporting Alabama and Nick Saban in the Rose Bowl.

Lane Kiffin says ‘Roll Tide’ when asked to pick Rose Bowl winner
Before Lane Kiffin tweeted RTR on Monday, he picked Alabama to beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl.
Kiffin joined ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday and just before he was set to sign off, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit asked Kiffin what he thought was going to happen in the Rose Bowl and who he thought would win between Alabama and Michigan.
“Well I wasn’t ready for that question,” Lane Kiffin said. “I mean those are two great teams, two great coaches, but I mean, c’mon Herbstreit. That’s a setup.”
Then, as if ignoring his own warning about the setup, Kiffin dropped one more telling line.
“Roll Tide!” Kiffin said.
The Ole Miss coach, of course, spent three years coaching at Alabama under Nick Saban, really revitalizing his career there. He credits Saban with helping him grow as a coach, eventually getting another opportunity to be a head coach.
Kiffin has taken advantage of his opportunity and has gone from a struggling head coach at USC who was fired to a coach who appears to be on the verge of doing something special at Ole Miss.
