Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood four-star quarterback Dylan Lonergan returned to Tuscaloosa this weekend for Alabama‘s 49-27 win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl. He has been committed to the Crimson Tide since July 11.

This trip marked Lonergan’s seventh to Alabama and first since Oct. 22. According to Lonergan’s father, his son remains locked in with the Crimson Tide.

“It’s (head) coach Nick Saban and his staff,” Dan Lonergan told Joseph Hastings of BamaInsider on Nov. 15. “His commitment to excellence and to the standard. Look at the history of excellence. Two games don’t change that one bit, particularly with the ways they’ve lost those games. There’s no concern on (Dylan’s) end. Looking at the track record of building NFL prospects — quarterbacks specifically — there’s no better school for that. He continues to be locked in for sure.”

Lonergan is the No. 89 overall prospect and No. 9 quarterback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Georgia.

The 6-foot-1, 220 pound signal-caller is one of two quarterbacks in Alabama’s 2023 recruiting class. Zachary (La.) four-star Eli Holstein, the No. 70 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus, chose the Crimson Tide on May 24.

Lonergan has an On3 NIL Valuation of $334K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Dylan Lonergan On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Dylan Lonergan:

“Talented passer who doubles as a standout on the gridiron and the baseball diamond. Highly touted baseball prospect who holds multiple Power 5 baseball offers, with the possibility of being a MLB Draft pick. Shows touch and accuracy as a passer at all levels of the field. Layers the football well, but can turn up the heat if needed on tight window throws. Productive while facing strong competition. Threw for nearly 3,400 yards and 32 touchdowns with just 3 interceptions as a junior.

“Mobile and creative with his legs. Ran for over 600 yards and 7 touchdowns as a junior. Has a stocky build, measuring between 6-foot-1 and 6-foot-2 and around 220 pounds. Mechanics can falter when the pocket collapses. Arm talent combined with his accuracy makes him one of the safer quarterback prospects in the country despite being on the older end for his class. Father was a quarterback at Penn State in the early 1980’s and won a national championship with them in 1982.”
