Another elite prospect in the 2025 cycle is making a move to one of the top high school programs in the country.

Alabama commit Michael Carroll, one of the top interior offensive linemen in the nation, announced on Wednesday that he is transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The Doylestown, Pa. native will head to the Sunshine State after attending Central Bucks East High right outside of Philadelphia.

“I would like to say thank you to all the coached that have helped me get to this point in my career, means a lot. With that being said I will be transferring and playing my senior year at IMG Academy,” Carroll wrote in a post on X.

IMG has seen a number of alumni go on to excel at the college and professional ranks. Ahead of the 2023-24 NFL season, 24 former Ascenders were on NFL rosters. IMG set a record at the 2024 NFL Draft with the first-round selections of offensive lineman JC Latham and QB J.J. McCarthy, as per the school’s website, it became the first to have alumni selected in the first round of the NFL Draft for five consecutive years.

Carroll is the second big-time prospect to announce a move to IMG this month. SMU four-star quarterback commit Ty Hawkins is also headed to the powerhouse for his senior campaign.

“At IMG Academy, I want to go play great completion, compete and learn as much as I can before enrolling in college early,” Hawkins told On3’s Chad Simmons. “IMG has great offensive linemen, they have great receivers to throw to, and I am excited about getting down there and playing with those guys.”

Carroll committed to Alabama on June 10 and is one of 10 top-100 prospects pledged to the Crimson Tide this cycle. While the 6-foot-6, 315-pounder is the nation’s No. 56 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, he’s ranked much higher in the 2025 On300. Carroll was named the No. 12 overall prospect, No. 1 IOL and a new five-star in the updated On300 earlier this month.

Scout’s Take on Michael Carroll

On3’s Scouting and Rankings team writes this about Carroll as a prospect:

“Carroll has everything you could ask for in an interior offensive line prospect at this point in his career. He has verified size, athleticism and film that jumps off the screen. At 6-foot-6, 315 pounds with his fluidity and tenacity, Michael Carroll is every coaches dream as a run blocker and pass protector going into their senior season.  Carroll has not only shined on Friday nights, but he has also performed extremely well in a camp setting against the toughest prospects in the country. He has earned his spot as the top interior offensive lineman and one of the top prospects in the 2025 cycle regardless of position.”
