Alabama IOL Michael Carroll is new 5-star in updated 2025 On300
With June official visits in the past and the midway point of the recruiting calendar here, On3 has updated its recruiting rankings for the 2025 class. Doylestown (Pa.) Central Bucks East interior offensive lineman and Alabama commit Michael Carroll is the No. 12 overall prospect and a new five-star in the 2025 On300.
The latest edition of On3’s 2024 rankings features 15 five-star prospects, up five from the previous update in April. Of those 15 five-stars, nine are already committed to college programs. Evaluations are far from over as prospects gear up for their senior seasons on the gridiron.
The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Carroll pledged to the Crimson Tide on June 10, continuing a rapid run of commitments for Kalen DeBoer and Co. to open the summer. Carroll is a major outlier for On3, as he checks in outside the top 100 overall in the On3 Industry Ranking.
“The coaching staff, they’re really personable,” Carroll said of his interest in Alabama back in May. “Coach Kap, I love him. The head coach, Coach DeBoer, he seems like a great person. He’s always staying consistent, talking with my parents, all of that. And then the strength coaches there. Coach Dave Ballou, he trained Quinton Nelson at Notre Dame and a bunch of other studs.”

Scout’s Take on Michael Carroll
On3’s Scouting and Rankings team writes this about Carroll as a prospect:
“Carroll has everything you could ask for in an interior offensive line prospect at this point in his career. He has verified size, athleticism and film that jumps off the screen. At 6-foot-6, 315 pounds with his fluidity and tenacity, Michael Carroll is every coaches dream as a run blocker and pass protector going into their senior season. Carroll has not only shined on Friday nights, but he has also performed extremely well in a camp setting against the toughest prospects in the country. He has earned his spot as the top interior offensive lineman and one of the top prospects in the 2025 cycle regardless of position.”
