NFL Combine: Official measurements revealed for quarterback Bryce Young

The 2023 NFL Combine is underway in Indianapolis this weekend, where prospects in the upcoming draft class are testing their bodies and doing interviews with various teams and media outlets. Of course, among the most important developments at the combine is the testing of the quarterbacks. In a QB-heavy class this year, fans and scouts were anxious to see how they tested physically.
Particularly Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, whose pro future is doubted by some for his small frame. Well, on Saturday, his official measurements were released for everybody to analyze. Here they were:
Height: 5-10 and 1/8th of an inch
Weight: 204 pounds
Hands: 9 and 3/4ths of an inch
There you have it. Young is way on the short side among NFL quarterbacks at nearly two inches under the six-foot threshold, while his weight came in a bit higher than most folks expected pre-combine. Whether or not his measurements are viewed as concerning for NFL teams, Young himself is confident he’ll hold up in the pros because he’s always been a little undersized.
Bryce Young downplays his size as a problem
By Dan Morrison
If Alabama quarterback Bryce Young had prototypical size, he’d easily be the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He doesn’t, though, and that could potentially cost him a couple of slots in the draft as teams wonder about his long-term durability.

However, as Young explained at the NFL Combine, he’s always been the little guy and that’s never stopped him before.
You can watch his answer, here:
“I’ve been this size, respectfully, my whole life. I know who I am, and I know what I can do. For me, it’s fair — everyone can speculate and ask whatever questions are necessary. I’m going to continue to control what I can control.”
Bryce Young went on to explain that he’s confident in himself and is going to keep working to do the best that he possibly can at the next level.
Unfortunately for Young, ahead of the NFL Draft players are critiqued over and over again. He doesn’t have many flaws, but in the league’s eyes, this is one of them.
