Nick Saban treated his leadership group to a day of water sports at his lake house this weekend and it looked like a wild affair. The Alabama football Twitter account shared a video of the trip, featuring players tubing and Saban driving the boat.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are preparing for the 2022 season, which kicks off in less than three months. Led by Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, the Tide return a very solid group of leaders, including one of the nation’s top defenders in Will Anderson. Despite losing seven stars to the 2022 NFL Draft, Bama is poised to once again run the SEC.

Las Vegas has the Crimson Tide’s win total set at 10.5 games for the regular season and they’re the odds leader for the SEC title.

Nick Saban reloads team leadership group

This spring, Nick Saban complimented his leadership group and how his team has responded to them so far.

“We have four guys back from our leadership group last year and we’ve added one,” the coach said. “Henry (To’oTo’o)’s been a really, really good leader, Jordan Battle has been a really good leader. We added DJ Dale to the leadership group because he emerged as a leader in the offseason program. Bryce has been a really good leader and affected a lot of people in a positive way and has developed more and more of a presence as his confidence has grown to be more assertive and to get other players to do the things they need to do to be successful.

“It’s not just how many leaders and who they are. It’s how do the other players respond to leadership?” Saban added. “You can have really good leaders on your team, but if players don’t respond to it because they don’t respect the importance of doing things right, then that’s an issue too. So far, this group has responded fairly well.”
