Dallas Turner describes Nick Saban's dance skills as an 'old man two-step'
Nick Saban has some dance skills, or something like that, according to Alabama linebacker Dallas Turner.
Turner poked fun at his head coach and it was precisely that, all in good fun. Turner joined SEC This Morning and was asked to describe a light-hearted Saban or a time when it was nice and fun with the coach.
Turner couldn’t help but mention the firs time he saw Saban dance.
“I mean, I’ll probably say a good story is the first time I saw Coach Saban dance,’ Turner said. “‘l’ll say that. He’s got a little old man two-step.”
We can all infer what an “old man two-step” is based on the description. Saban regularly dances when he’s recruiting such as the Cupid Shuffle during weekend visits for players at Alabama.
If doing the Cupid Shuffle leads to the amount of success Saban has had, we’re about to see every college football coach in the nation bring it out on the recruiting trail. Who knows, maybe even the Cha Cha Slide will make an appearance one of these days.

Turner even discussed his recruitment when Saban had to battle other SEC schools for his services.
“I mean, one thing I will say about Coach Saban during my recruiting process in high school is that he was very honest with me,” Turner said. “That he had a vision for me and he had I wouldn’t say like a goal, but he had a path he wanted me to take.”
A light-hearted Saban is good for Turner off the field, but the stern and serious Saban is great for him on the field as well. Turner has to replace Will Anderson as the lead dog at the linebacker position for the Crimson Tide.
Last season, Turner finished with 37 total tackles, 16 solo tackles, eight tackles for loss, four sacks, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown. He has 12.5 career sacks and 18 tackles for loss.
Expect those numbers for Turner to go up under Saban in 2023, that’s for sure.
As a member of the Class of 2021, Turner was a five-star recruit out of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 3 overall prospect in the state, the No. 2 EDGE in the class and the No. 9 overall prospect in the class.
