Nick Saban describes experience of golfing with Travis Scott, 50 Cent
Nick Saban, Travis Scott and 50 Cent linked up at the 2024 edition of the Mr. October Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic.
The legendary rappers crossed paths with the iconic former college football coach at the event, and it set the internet ablaze. Afterwards, Saban explained how it all went down, and how much he admires the charity work the event provides.
“I didn’t really golf with them, they were golfing in-front of us, at the Reggie Jackson charity event,” Saban revealed. “Those things get jammed up, so we had time with each other on the tee boxes. Take pictures, and stuff like that. So I didn’t really golf with them, I just was at the event with them. But that was a great event, and well done. Really is helpful to the young people.
“I’m glad those guys were there, and as well as a lot of a lot of other really, really — Dr. J, Sugar Ray Leonard, Ozzie Smith. A lot of guys that I grew up wanting to be like. So it was a lot of fun.”
So La Flame and Saban didn’t golf together, but at least they were pictured together on the course in a photo that you have to see to believe. It’s still a pretty awesome mix, even if there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to the story.
Moreover, the event was held in the Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Florida, where Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation collaborated with Reggie Jackson, affectionately named Mr. October for his prowess during the MLB postseason, in helping up together this epic lineup — which included the former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach.

Those at the event included Alex Rodriguez, Albert Pujols, Derek Jeter, Justin Verlander, Barry Bonds, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Adrian Peterson, Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, Rob Gronkowski, Joe Namath, Allen Iverson, Lil Wayne, Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Mackie, 50 Cent, Dave Chappelle, DJ Khaled, Morgan Wallen and more, according to Golf Digest.
“We take great pride in the fact that our STEM curriculum has reached over one million students,” says Jackson of the Mr. October Foundation, via Golf Digest’s report. “I want to thank Travis Scott for his shared and longstanding commitment to ensuring that no matter where children live, they should have access to quality learning environments.”
All proceeds from the event will go toward enhancing opportunities for youth to further study subjects such as science, technology, engineering and math.
As you can see, Nick Saban, Travis Scott and 50 Cent were among those who linked up for a tremendous cause. We’ll see if they hang out in the future now that Saban is officially retired from the grind of coaching.
