Alabama head coach Nick Saban said defensive back Malachi Moore twisted his ankle against Texas A&M, causing him to miss the remainder of the contest. Moore left the game in the 2nd quarter.

Moore originally was taken off the field with the help of trainers and didn’t put weight on his right leg before going to the injury tent. He was eventually carted off and eventually ruled out with a lower-body injury.

“Malachi’s got a twisted ankle,” Saban said in his postgame press conference.

Despite the rather brief update from Saban after Alabama beat Texas A&M, 26-20, it does seem Moore dodged a long-term or severe injury. His status going forward in the immediate future remains to be seen.

Alabama QB Jalen Milroe enjoyed leading his team to a road win

Jalen Milroe turned in one of his best performances as a passer during his tenure as the Alabama starting quarterback. And it couldn’t have come at a better time as the Crimson Tide needed Milroe’s arm to get a win on the road against a stout Texas A&M defense on Saturday.

Milroe went 21-of-33 for 321 yards, three touchdowns and an interception as he and his receivers routinely punished the Aggies down the field. Once Alabama had survived a late push, Milroe reflected on the feeling of getting the win with CBS sideline reporter Jenny Dell.

“We had the knowledge that they’re a great football team. It took a lot of preparation going into the week. Playing in this type of environment, playing against a tough opponent, so we knew coming into the game it was going to take all 11 of us, all 11 guys. You come to college to play in games like this. It was fun. I’m very glad we came out with the win and Roll Tide,” Milroe said.

His head coach shared his pride for his team to come on the road and survive the challenges that Texas A&M presented.

“Well, I think our guys did a great job of showing a lot of tenacity with the way they played in the second half. We had to overcome a lot of adversity. A lot of calls that we kick ourselves in the foot getting penalties and helping the other team, which is something we need to eliminate. But this is a great win. This is a tough place to play, they’ve got a good team, I’m really proud of the way our guys competed in this game,” Saban said.
