WATCH: Nick Saban sends special message to former Alabama players in Super Bowl 57
Four former Alabama players will participate in Super Bowl 57 Sunday evening. Ahead of the game, Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban made sure to send them off with well wishes.
One would assume that at least one former Alabama star would be on every NFL roster, but there isn’t a single player on the Kansas Chiefs roster that played their college football in Tuscaloosa. The Philadelphia Eagles, however, have four: Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson and Josh Jobe.
“This is to Jalen, Landon, Smitty, Josh — so proud of you guys for having a great season. This is what you work for to have a chance like this to play in the Super Bowl,” Saban said, via Alabama Football on Twitter. “I wish you the best of luck, we’ll be watching and rooting for you. You guys have a good one, man. We’re pulling for you. God bless you. Roll Tide.”
While Smith is the only one of the four to win the Heisman Trophy, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has been the star for Philadelphia this season. After turning pro, Hurts started just four games as a rookie before taking over as the Eagles’ starter in 2021.
