On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Alabama leads for Edric Hill
Kansas City (Mo.) North defensive lineman Edric Hill announced his top schools on Tuesday night, naming Alabama, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon and USC.
But following a recent expert prediction from BamaInsider’s Andrew Bone, it’s the Crimson Tide who are trending in a big way to land him. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) now gives Alabama an 89.6 percent chance of securing his commitment, which Hill tweeted would be coming “soon.”
The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder is the No. 166 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 21 defensive lineman and the No. 6 player in Missouri.
The Industry Comparison shows that On3 is higher on Hill than the other recruiting services, though. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 103 prospect, No. 16 defensive lineman and No. 3 player from the Show-Me State.

Hill, who has ascended into one of Alabama’s top targets on the defensive line, took a trio of official visits this summer. In addition to visiting Tuscaloosa, he also made trips to LSU and USC. The Tide currently have the No. 1 overall class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings, but only have one commitment along the defensive line.
Edric Hill Scouting Summary
“Interior disruptor that is a consistent people mover who wins with leverage and raw power. Stands in at a shade under 6-foot-3, 285 pounds with a 6-foot-8 wingspan and 10-inch hand. Threw 46 feet in the shot put during his junior track and field season. Has the strike and pop teams covet amongst interior defenders. See some explosion in his get off. Ran an electronically-timed 5.00 40-yard dash, 4.65 shuttle and jumped a 28-inch vertical during the spring camp circuit before his senior year.
… Can get stuck in the mud at times when maneuvering laterally. Need to see some development in his change of direction in order to excel at the next level. Has the build, raw power and twitch to make an immediate impact in college. If he can loosen up and develop some more bend to his game, he will become a surefire NFL draft selection. On the older end of the spectrum for the 2023 recruiting cycle.”
