Tuesday, Skip Golding — father of Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding — called in to The Paul Finebaum Show and threatened one of Finebaum’s regular callers, who goes by the name “Legend.” Wednesday, Legend called the show to respond.

Legend had some harsh thoughts about Pete Golding following Alabama’s close victory over Texas last week, and Skip Golding called in to defend his son. He said he’ll “meet [Legend’s] ass because I ain’t scared” and added he’s from south Miami.

Almost 24 hours later, Legend clapped back — and escalated the tension in the process.

“Let me tell Skip Golding something,” Legend said. “Let me tell you this, brother. You might be from South Florida, but I’m from redneck Walker County. If you can survive in redneck Walker County, baby, you can survive anywhere. Your little threat to me didn’t scare me. I didn’t really consider it a threat. I considered it an honor that you came after me. … But I will meet you somewhere Skip Golding, under one condition. One condition. And that is that you bring that sorry-ass defensive coordinator son along with you because I don’t believe in whooping ass when it comes to the elderly.

“I wouldn’t lay a hand on you, sir. I’ve got all the respect for you. But I’ll whoop the hell out of your son for stealing form the University of Alabama for the last friggin’ five years of his career. The only coach in the SEC that has stole more money from a university than Pete Golding is that con-man, Bobby Collins wannabe Jimbo Fisher in dadgum Texas A&M Aggie Land. You’ve been stealing from us, you ain’t a defensive coordinator and I just called you out on it.”

Pete Golding’s father threatens critical caller on Paul Finebaum Show

Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding has faced his fair share of both criticism and praise over the past several years working under Nick Saban. However, after Saturday’s close win over Texas, the words of one caller on the SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum Show set off a big reaction from another caller named Skip.

The caveat being that Skip happens to be Pete Golding’s father. In an awkward on-air response, he threatened another caller going by the name “Legend” for his harsh thoughts about both Alabama coordinators.

“Give me his address,” Skip Golding told Finebaum. “I’ll meet his ass because I ain’t scared. I’m from south Miami.”

At the end of the call, Finebaum confronted Skip Golding on his threats, asking if he was serious.

“I wouldn’t give that man the time of day,” Golding said. “If I had to, I damn sure would. He’s not worth it. That’s what Pete’s told me. ‘He’s not worth listening to, so forget him, dad.’ Sometimes I can. Sometimes I can’t because Pete would kill me.”
