Report: Jahvon Quinerly practicing, Nate Oats reveals timetable for return to action
After suffering a torn ACL in Alabama’s loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Notre Dame, Jahvon Quinerly began the road to recovery. Now, according to a report by Jon Rothstein, Quinerly has finally returned to practice for the Crimson Tide.
Even though he has returned to practice, Jahvon Quinerly is not expected to be able to play at the start of the season for Alabama. Instead, according to head coach Nate Oats, he should be able to play by some time in early December. However, he wasn’t able to set a more specific timeline and that assumes that Quinerly doesn’t have any setbacks.
Prior to his injury, Jahvon Quinerly had become an incredibly important player for Alabama, who could both score and facilitate the offense for the Crimson Tide.

This new pace of his return matches what Nate Oats had set for a goal over the summer.
“We were [initially] hoping to have him back by SEC play. We might get him back a little bit earlier. It’d be great if we could get him some non-conference games in before we hit SEC play,” Nate Oats said.

While Jahvon Quinerly works his way back from injury, Alabama will rely on Ohio transfer Mark Sears and transfer and freshman Jaden Bradley at the point guard position. However, once Quinerly returns, it should be his job.
