Alabama running back Jahymr Gibbs declares for 2023 NFL Draft
Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs has officially made a decision on his future and whether or not to enter the 2023 NFL Draft. One of the top do-it-all players in the country will be heading to the NFL next season.
Gibbs only spent one season in Tuscaloosa, being one of the high-profile additions head coach Nick Saban made via the transfer portal last offseason. He brought a new dynamic to the Alabama offense, being a consistent ball carrier plus becoming a threat as a receiver out of the backfield.

While an injury came into effect in the final quarter of the season, Gibbs still put up impressive stats throughout the 2022 season. He ended the season with 926 yards and seven touchdowns behind 151 carries, averaging 6.1 yards per rush. Gibbs also added 44 receptions for 444 yards and three more touchdowns.
Running back is not a popular position near the top of the NFL Draft, with teams not selecting the position frequently in the first round. However, when you have the skillset of somebody like Gibbs, he provides so much more than double-digit carries in a standard game.
It’s been a long tradition of draft picks for Alabama since Saban took over 15 years ago. Gibbs has the opportunity to be the latest in April.
