WATCH: Jahymr Gibbs shakes n' bakes his way into touchdown

When Jahmyr Gibbs entered the transfer portal and chose Alabama, he was instantly thought of as one of the most dangerous players in the country. Not just because of his ability running the ball but also out of the backfield with quarterback Bryce Young.
Gibbs was never supposed to be the main target for Young in the play. He was looking downfield, hoping for a big chunk play. Well, he got exactly what he wanted by dumping it down to his running back.

Getting the ball behind the line of scrimmage, Gibbs went over 35 yards for the score. He made at least three ULM players miss on his way to the endzone and even pulled off an impressive shake ‘n bake near the goal line.

“I’ve done that since high school,” Gibbs said. “I played a lot of receiver — and at [Georgia] Tech — I played a little slot. So, I was pretty used to it coming in.”
Gibbs’ pass-catching ability adds another dimension to the Alabama offense, and that showed against Louisiana-Monroe. However, he said the Crimson Tide wants to see more, which is why the film sessions will be about making sure the offense gets better as they start SEC play next week against Vanderbilt.
“I think we did a pretty good job, but we always have stuff we need to work on,” Gibbs said. “We’ll just get back in the film room and improve this week.”
