Alabama running back Justice Haynes shows off impressive offseason workout
With multiple players leaving Tuscaloosa following Nick Saban‘s retirement, just as many are locked in and ready to play for Kalen DeBoer. Some have made their announcements public, vocalizing their commitment to Alabama. Others have just stayed silent, with running back Justice Haynes seemingly being one of them.
For Haynes, the moment Alabama lost to Michigan in the Rose Bowl, it was time to get to work. He has been working out and preparing for what should be an expanded role in 2024. The latest example was posted on Saturday afternoon, showing off his impressive offseason workout.
Haynes is performing what is described as the “Farmer’s Walk.” He is seen carrying a good chunk of weight for a few yards while walking in a straight line. Impressive for the youngster looking to improve his strength and balance.

Alabama fans got a taste of what Haynes can bring to the table in the Rose Bowl. Seemingly out of nowhere, the former four-star prospect was getting carries in the Crimson Tide’s most important game of the season. And he was quite productive despite a small sample size.
On just four carries, Haynes rushed for 31 yards. No, it’s not a ton but he was getting the ball at a time when Alabama was struggling to move the ball. A nice jolt of energy was pumped into the offense in Pasadena.

To On3’s Andy Staples, getting Haynes involved was a move he thinks Saban has done in the past.
“It reminds me, a little bit, of when they gave Derrick Henry a little more run in the Sugar Bowl against Ohio State after not using him very much in 2014,” Staples said. “I think we’re going to see a lot of Justice Haynes early on based on the flashes we saw in the Rose Bowl. And for those of us that follow recruiting, we’re very excited for what he can be.”
Haynes played high school football at Buford (GA) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 33 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
With Jam Miller also making his way back to Tuscaloosa, Alabama could have one of the best backfields in the country next season.
