Ryan Williams reveals touching reason for letting sister paint his nails

Alabama wideout Ryan Williams is one of the most electrifying players in the country. Not only has he made some of the most jaw-dropping catches of the college football season, but he also has a unique way of painting his nails before every game. But there’s a very special reason behind it. On the Wednesday evening edition of the “Hey Coach! Show with Kalen DeBoer,” Williams explained why he paints his nails.

Painting his nails orange actually started his sophomore year of high school. “Started my sophomore year of high school. My little sister she decided that she really liked doing nails. And first she started with my mom. And she wanted to try on me. So, I was just like, I’m comfortable in my own skin. It didn’t really bother me. I think the first time it was just clear. Now she’s gotten so much better, every week,” Williams explained.

“Anytime she can, she tries to come up here before the game and do them for me. And she just loves to do them,” Wiliams continued.

He said plenty of his teammates were confusing that he was painting his nails the color orange for the Tennessee Vols. “A couple of the guys, they got fired up at me. They thought it was for the opposing team,” Williams explained.

Ryan Williams has been nothing short of spectacular in his first year in college football. He’s hauled in 31 catches for 649 yards and seven touchdowns. He’ll likely land on every freshman All-American list across the country at season’s end. Against Georgia, he had six catches for 177 yards and one touchdown, including the catch that many people have called the play of the year.

Alabama will face Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 26th. The game will be played at 3:30 PM EST and it will be nationally televised on ABC.
