Griffen on his decision

“I chose them because it felt good on my visit,” Griffen said. “It was more than just that though, my relationship with the coaches was pretty good. They’re locked into making me better, on both ends of the floor. It just felt good for my development. They have a good development coaching staff.”

Scouting Report on Griffen

On3’s Senior National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton had this to say about Rylan Griffen:

“Griffen’s best basketball is way out in front of him. He flashes big-time ability on both ends of the floor, but needs consistency. His ability to be a lockdown defender at his height will get him on the court early. His ability to shoot the three and get to the mid-range is where his strengths are on the offensive end. He has the ability to score in bunches. Can finish with dunks in transition. Has a tendency to hide his athleticism, and then flashes the high ceiling when you least expect it. His thin frame will fill out quickly at the next level. As he adds strength, he will play in traffic with more confidence. Has a quality hoops IQ.”
