Terrence Ferguson taken to locker room early with apparent injury
Alabama offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson left the field early with an apparent injury before halftime Saturday against Ole Miss. Ferguson was seen being helped to the locker room by a pair of trainers as he walked gingerly with 1:07 remaining in the first half.
The redshirt sophomore received his first career start in Week 3 against South Florida. There he helped pave the way for the Crimson Tide to finish with 203 yards rushing in a 17-3 win.
Ferguson is a former four-star recruit out of Peach County High School in Fort Valley, Georgia. He ranked as the No. 64 overall prospect and No. 3 inside offensive lineman in the 2021 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
It’s unclear exactly at this point what the nature of the injury to Terrence Ferguson is, but we’ll hopefully receive an update following halftime. Alabama trailed Ole Miss by a score of 7-6 at the break.
The Crimson Tide offensive line allowed four sacks in the first half. Alabama was already down one offensive lineman after Darrian Dalcourt suffered an injury shortly before Ferguson entered the game.
That will be a lot to overcome as the Crimson Tide hope to turn things around in the second half and avoid opening SEC play with a loss.

Nick Saban gives positive spin on up-and-down first half
Looking at the Alabama–Ole Miss halftime score, it’s not something you would expect — especially with Lane Kiffin on the sideline. The Rebels have a one-point lead heading into the locker room, 7-6, making for a low-scoring contest. Both head coaches are going to need to make halftime adjustments as a huge second half is looming in Tuscaloosa.
Nick Saban believes his team is “fortunate” to only be down by a point to Ole Miss, a positive spin from the head coach. He believes Alabama has shot itself in the foot throughout two quarters of play. Something will have to change if Saban is going to be the winning coach during his postgame interview.
“To me, for all the mistakes that we made, we’re fortunate for it to be 7-6,” Saban said walking off the field with CBS. “We got to get things straightened out here at halftime. Hopefully, play a little bit better and not shoot ourselves in the foot so much.”
While neither team will be happy with their first-half offensive production, Ole Miss is currently outgaining Alabama, 153-115. Saban will likely spend most of halftime attempting to figure out how the offense can improve.
