Coming out of Alabama, Evan Neal was one of the most anticipated NFL rookies. Taken seventh overall in the 2022 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, Neal is already contributing to Giants as a starting tackle on the field. With that comes a lot of attention from the media, fans, and his teammates.

One teammate, clearly, made a bet with Evan Neal over the Alabama-Tennessee game because when he met with the media he was wearing a Tennessee hat. The bright orange and white trucker hat is clearly brand new and Neal doesn’t look particularly comfortable in it.

The interview itself is pretty standard. Evan Neal is previewing facing the Jacksonville Jaguars. He talks about working on getting better and praises his coaches in New York. However, Neal never acknowledges that he’s wearing a Tennessee hat.

Evan Neal wasn’t the only one who lost this bet. Former Alabama safety Xavier McKinney was also seen around the Giants’ facilities with a Tennessee hat on. Apparently, they lost the bet to assistant trainer Phil Buzzerio, who went to Tennessee.

This is probably the last time you’ll ever see Evan Neal with a Tennessee hat on unless he loses another bet.

Nick Saban says Alabama needs to get back on track

Even with the loss to Tennessee, Alabama can still make the College Football Playoff. However, as Nick Saban explained, they need to bounce back to stay on track for the postseason.

“Well, you know, we try to play one game at a time,” Nick Saban said. “And I think it goes without saying that players know, you know, we lost a game in the east. I think it goes without saying — and I don’t think I have to say it — that playing in your division is really, really important. You can’t afford to lose games in your division and still have a chance to get in the SEC championship game. Our goal here is to play with a team full of guys that are champions. They’re doing the right things. They buy in to the principles and values of the organization. Do what you’re supposed to do to the standard you’re supposed to do it to. Be positive. Have fun. Be responsible to do your job. And those things are the things that we’re trying to focus on, and if we can do those things, well, you know, we may have a chance.”
