When Will Anderson takes the field for Alabama on Saturday, it’ll be under different circumstances than he’s used to. For the first time as a member of the Crimson Tide, Anderson will feel what it’s like to be an underdog.

However, Alabama isn’t putting too much stock into the fact that Georgia enters the SEC Championship Game as favorites. As Anderson stated on Monday’s SEC Championship Game teleconference, Alabama isn’t worried about the noise.

“I mean, we control only what we control,” stated Anderson. “We try not to worry about external factors. What other people think about us because the only thing we have to think about is what’s going on in the locker room. How we can go out there and we can dominate and be the team that’s fast and dominate. We have to be on the same page to execute the game plans that coaches give to us.

“I think that’s the only thing we’re worried about in this facility. And I think that’s what we’re going to be worried about as we head into the game.”

It may be an odd sentence to read, but Alabama will look to pull the upset on Saturday. With players like Will Anderson leading the charge, it’s tough to bet against the Crimson Tide.

Anderson: ‘It’s a different type of mindset when you come here to Alabama.’

While everyone knows playing for Nick Saban is unlike anything else in the sport, not all players take to his coaching style. That doesn’t apply to Will Anderson — he’s adopted the Alabama mindset completely.

“To be at Alabama, you have to be a very good competitor. You have to be able to compete every day even when you don’t feel like competing,” stated Anderson. “So it’s a different type of mindset when you come here to Alabama.

“I think that was the biggest thing for me when I was getting recruited. That’s why I wanted to come here is because of the mindset and because of the men who were going to be here to help me along the way and help me get to where I want to be at.”

Will Anderson is a star, and he’s completely adopted the Crimson Tide mindset. The linebacker epitomizes what it means to be an Alabama football player. Everything Anderson is will be on full display as he attempts to lead the Crimson Tide to an upset SEC Championship victory.
