Will Anderson says he would be 'blessed' to play for any NFL team
Alabama linebacker Will Anderson is more than likely going to go pretty high in the NFL Draft. However, he has no personal preference as far as who he plays for during his career.
Some mock drafts even have Anderson as the No. 1 overall pick, depending upon that team’s needs. Like his teammate, quarterback Bryce Young, Anderson could very well be an instant impact player as a rookie for the 2023 season.
But for him, it does not matter where he goes. In fact, it’ll be a blessing.
“Any team that gets me I’ll be blessed,” Anderson said. “Any team that you know, brings me and my family on to their program, I will be super excited and super happy.”
As far as him and Young being considered for the top pick, there was nothing cooler for Anderson than to see his teammate’s success.
“Yeah, it is really cool,” Anderson said. “But it just speaks volumes to the type of person Bryce is. He’s a big competitor too, just like me. We have the same mindset, same mentality and I think that’s why we’re so close because we’re kind of the same person.

“It’s super exciting to see a teammate of yours in the same position to do that. (He has) worked his butt off every day, he’s doing everything the right way to show people how to do it and to be in this position.”
Anderson began his career at Alabama in 2020 as the No. 3 linebacker and No. 17 overall player in the class according to On3 Consensus. He made an instant impact on the Crimson Tide, amassing seven sacks in his first season on campus.
Afterwards, the defensive star proved the hype was real, continuing to grow from his fantastic freshman season. His sophomore season put him among the best of the best, as he accumulated 101 total tackles, 17.5 sacks and three pass deflections. Finding the backfield consistently and forcing opponents to scheme around him, Anderson was arguably the most dominant player in the entire country.

That set high expectations for Anderson entering his junior season at Alabama in 2022, as he was considered one of the top overall prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft. He didn’t disappoint, as he recorded 51 tackles, 17 of which were for loss, and 10 sacks this season. All that sets up for Anderson to be a premium selection at the top of the 2023 NFL Draft in April and many expect he could be in the conversation for a top five pick.
