Hoover (Ala.) three-star quarterback Bennett Meredith has committed to Arizona State and signed his National Letter of Intent.

Meredith was also considering Maryland after he decommitted from Northwestern last month.

Meredith is the No. 1303 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is also the No. 78 quarterback and No. 52 player from the state of Alabama.

Meredith told On3’s Chad Simmons that the Sun Devils were the favorites for his commitment.

“They have been recruiting me and talking to me since they offered,” Bennett Meredith told On3 about 10 days ago. “I took an official visit out there last weekend and I like how they’ve gone about recruiting me.

“They’ve developed a relationship with not only me, but they have also gone out of their way to make my parents feel really comfortable about Arizona State. They have been completely transparent with me about themselves and how much they want me.”

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) gave the Sun Devils a 94.6% chance to land Meredith heading into the early signing period.

RPM was released to the public on Friday. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, expert predictions, social sentiment, visits, and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
