On3 4-star TE AJ Ia commits to Arizona State
Orange (Calif.) Lutheran four-star tight end AJ Ia has committed to Arizona State.
He chose the Sun Devils over the likes of SMU, Florida, Auburn, Kansas and Washington.
Ia is the No. 421 overall prospect and No. 21 TE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 33 player in California.
On3 ranks Ia much higher than other recruiting services. He checks in at No. 119 overall, No. 4 at his position and No. 7 in California, according to the updated 2025 On300.
Kenny Dillingham and ASU have landed another big-time pledge. Ia took his official visit to Tempe at the end of April and the new Big 12 program did enough to beat multiple SEC schools and others for the versatile 6-foot-6, 220-pounder.
Ia is the third four-star to join the Sun Devils’ 2025 class, flanking Pflugerville (Texas) four-star wide receiver Adrian Wilson and Phoenix Mountain Pointe four-star safety Rylon Dillard-Allen.
Sun Devils capping off big April on the recruiting trail
Seven prospects have committed to Dillingham and the Sun Devils this month. The class now features 11 pledges and ranks No. 26 in the nation and No. 3 in the Big 12, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Wilson headlines, as the former TCU and Oregon commit is the No. 158 overall recruit and No. 17 WR in the 2025 cycle. He committed on April 19 after taking his official visit to Tempe.

“I definitely like that they have a lot of NFL coaches on their staff now,” Wilson told On3 ahead of his commitment. “They have a really young staff, with coach Kenny Dillingham only being in his 30s. That’s something I really like and then, they’re really going to get after it on the field. They have a new scheme for offense that I’ve seen and they’re going to throw the ball.”
Dillard-Allen is another prospect that On3 is higher on than the industry, as he is a top-300 recruit and top-25 safety in the On300. He is one of a whopping five listed safeties in the class, as of April 30.
Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro three-star athlete Dajon Hinton committed to ASU over the weekend. Other additions this month include Ia’s Orange Lutheran teammate, three-star safety Benjamin Alefaio and Texas City (Texas) three-star safety Xavier Skowron.
The oldest pledge in the class is San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) J Serra Catholic three-star quarterback Michael Tollefson. He committed last June and is currently the No. 38 signal-caller in the 2025 cycle.
