The 2023 Sun Devils recruiting class ranks 102nd in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking, which is last in the Pac-12.

Dillingham was hired from Oregon, where he served as the offensive coordinator this past season.

He inherited a small recruiting class from fired head coach Herm Edwards and the previous staff, thanks in part to sanctions believed to be coming soon as a result of recruiting violations.

The potential sanctions have been looming over the program for two recruiting cycles now. After signing the 39th class in the 2021 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking, the Sun Devils dropped to 111th in 2022.
