Report: Arizona State defensive end Stanley Lambert facing DUI charges
Arizona State defensive end Stanley Lambert is facing DUI charges after he hit a woman with his car in Scottsdale, Arizona on Saturday, according to AZFamily.com. The 23-year old woman, identified by local authorities as Norah Bruther, later died from her injuries.
According to police, the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. near Camelback Road, as well as Miller Road and led to Stanley Lambert’s arrest on DUI-related charges. The report said that the Arizona State football player was booked into the Scottsdale City Jail and was later released during the investigation. Pending lab tests and investigation could also bring later chargers in addition to those brought so far.
Arizona State officials told local reporters that they are aware of the situation, providing the following statement.
“We are aware of the tragic situation over the weekend involving one of our student-athletes,” the statement read. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of all involved. We are still gathering information and we do not have any other statement at this time.”

More about Stanley Lambert
Stanley Lambert has been a member of the Arizona State football team since 2018, and has appeared in 14 games over his career. Despite limited playing time throughout his first two seasons, he did not record any stats until 2020.
Over the past two years, he has four tackle and two sacks, and was planning to return for his redshirt senior season in 2022. The San Antonio, Texas native also attended John Marshall High School prior to his college career.
As a three-star recruit, Lambert ranked No. 765 overall in the 2018 class according to the On3 Consensus. He also ranked No. 61 among edge rushers and No. 107 in the state of Texas.
