Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo will not play on Saturday against UCF, due to a shoulder injury, according to Brandon Marcello of 247sports. Skattebo is currently the nation’s seventh-leading rusher, averaging 125.1 rushing yards per game. Kyson Brown will start for the Sun Devils at running back in his place.
Skattebo is one of the most dynamic running backs in America, and he’s carried the Sun Devils for much of the 2024 season. He’s got 173 carries for 1,001 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry. Skattebo has had a number of monster games, with four games over 100 rushing yards. His best game of the season came against Mississippi State, rushing 33 times for 262 rushing yards. He even hauled in three catches for 35 yards. Skattebo had another great game through the air against Texas Tech, when he hauled in six catches for 117 yards.

In 2023, Skattebo piled up over 1,000 all-purpose yards and 11 total touchdowns for the Sun Devils. For his college football career, he’s already tallied over 3,600 total rushing yards and over 1,000 receiving yards, establishing himself as one of the elite all-purpose backs in the game today. The California native has 40 total touchdowns, displaying his knack finding the end zone, both as a receiver and on the ground.
Arizona State has won three of their last four games, including an upset victory over the 16th ranked Utah Utes, 27-19. Their only loss came to the Cincinnati Bearcats, who they lost to 24-14. In their final games of the season, ASU will go up against UCF, Kansas State, BYU, and Arizona. It’s certainly a pretty difficult stretch, especially the BYU game. The Cougars are currently in the Top 10 in the country and are positioning themselves for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
The Arizona State-UCF game is slated for 8:00 PM EST.
