Jordan Clark carries his last name proudly every time he steps on a football field, as the Arizona State Sun Devils defensive back is the son of former NFL star Ryan Clark.

A Super Bowl champion and NFL Pro Bowler who played for the New York Giants, Washington Redskins and most famously the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ryan Clark knows a thing or two about being great on the gridiron. While many know his prowess from his time on ESPN’s various shows, his son Jordan has learned it through his father’s teachings.

Joining former NFL players Will Compton and Taylor Lewan on the latest episode of Barstool Sports’ Bussin’ with the Boys, Jordan Clark told a hilarious story about how Ryan Clark responded to his son missing three tackles in a high school football game.

“I’ll tell a story. … My sophomore year, I had missed three tackles. If there’s one thing that my dad did when he played, he hunted. Bro like, he was a banger,” started Clark. “So I missed three tackles. I seen him stand up in the stands, and I already knew he was mad. The next day bro, he woke me up and he brought out his Super Bowl helmet and his pads. We did Oklahomas for like, an hour bro. Bro like, legitimately. Lined up across from each other like, five-yards away from each other and just ran it for like, an hour.

“I got yelled at, cussed out and everything. I was like, I was mad. I went home crying. I was hurt.”

After Jordan Clark recalled he was just 15-years old at the time, Lewan wanted to know the question on everyone’s mind, who got the better of the drills that fateful morning, Ryan Clark or his son?

“I was getting messed up the whole time,” laughed Jordan Clark. “He literally had his Super Bowl helmet, the helmet he wore in the Super Bowl bro, he had it on. … He ordered like, a practice jersey that looked like my high school practice jersey with like the number on it and everything.”

Hilariously, the lesson got through, as Jordan Clark revealed he learned one thing from that afternoon, “Don’t miss tackles.”

One has to wonder what Ryan Clark does now if the Arizona State star has a rough game. It’d be tremendous television to see him take part in Oklahoma drills with his son once again.

Nevertheless, Ryan Clark has to be immensely proud of his son Jordan for how far the game of football has taken him, and his story is far from finished. Jordan Clark will hope to take the next step in his game with the Sun Devils in 2023.
