2024 WR Quimari Shemwell commits to Arizona
Los Angeles Long Beach Poly wide receiver Quimari Shemwell has committed to Arizona.
He chose the Wildcats while also holding offers from Utah, Washington State and UConn.
Arizona was Shemwell’s first offer. He took an unofficial visit to Tuscon in September.
Shemwell does not have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Shemwell joins Arizona’s growing 2024 recruiting class
The addition of Shemwell makes 22 total commitments for Jedd Fisch and Co. The class ranks No. 49 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking.
Headlining the class is Long Beach (Calif.) Jordan four-star running back Jordan Washington, the No. 221 overall prospect and No. 18 RB in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Behind Washington, Chandler (Ariz.) Basha four-star quarterback Demond Williams Jr is the No. 19 signal-caller in the cycle. He committed to the in-state Wildcats on July 31. Arizona was the fourth Division I program and first Power Five school to extend Williams Jr. an offer when they did so in January 2021. He’s visited campus multiple times since then including their home-opener last season against Mississippi State.
“I would say the NFL connections that coach Fisch has and them believing in my abilities since day 1. I feel like it is a great opportunity to prepare me for the next level. As well as developmentally getting me to get to my maximum potential,” Williams told On3 upon his commitment.
