2024 ATH Dylan Tapley commits to Arizona Wildcats
Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain three-star athlete Dylan Tapley has committed to Arizona.
He chose the Wildcats following his decommitment from Arizona State on Nov. 9.
Tapley is the No. 581 overall prospect and No. 22 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 player in Arizona.
Arizona was originally a finalist for Tapley’s pledge back in April, but it was the Sun Devils that originally won the in-state recruitment. Jedd Fisch and tight ends coach Jordan Paopao remained on the case for the Wildcats and have now landed the 6-foot-4, 205-pounder’s commitment.
Tapley does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Wildcats filling out 2024 recruiting class
The addition of Tapley brings Arizona’s 2024 recruiting class back to 22 commitments following the decommitment of Chula Vista (Calif.) Mater Dei Catholic three-star cornerback Isaiah Buxton on Nov. 10.

Long Beach (Calif.) Jordan running back Jordan Washington and Chandler (Ariz.) Basha quarterback Demond Williams Jr are the two four-stars pledged to Fisch and Co. as of Nov. 11. Williams is the No. 18 QB in the cycle.
“I would say the NFL connections that coach Fisch has and them believing in my abilities since day one,” Williams told On3 about why he picked Arizona. “I feel like it is a great opportunity to prepare me for the next level. As well as developmentally getting me to get to my maximum potential.”
Tapley is a two-way athlete and becomes the third highest-ranked pledge in Arizona’s class, which now ranks No. 53 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking. The class also ranks No. 9 in the Big 12 and remains ahead of the likes of West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Iowa State and Baylor.
