Jedd Fisch and the Arizona Wildcats have added another offensive weapon to its 2022 class. Right before the early signing period ended last month, elite wide receiver Tetairoa McMillian flipped from Oregon to Arizona.

That four-star’s signature pushed Arizona into the top 35 in the Team Rankings, and they just got another boost with Rayshon Luke announcing his decision to be a Wildcat.

“Rayshon is a do-it-all playmaker,” Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco head coach Jason Negro told On3. “In my 12 years as head coach at St. John Bosco, he is one of the most dynamic playmakers I have coached.”

Luke is a 5-foot-9, 156-pound athlete that ranks No. 275 in the On3 Consensus who lined up all over the field for the Braves. Coach Negro sees him doing the same at Arizona.

“There is not much he can’t do. He is a dangerous kickoff return guy. Rayshon is dangerous in the passing game out of the backfield or lined up in the slot.

“At running back, he is a home run hitter. At any time, from anywhere, he can take it the distance. Rayshon is a big-time threat any time he gets the ball.

“His speed, ability in space, hands, and athleticism will make him very dangerous on the next level.”

Luke will be ready to compete early at Arizona

Due to COVID-19 in 2020, St. John Bosco had to play their season in the spring of 2021. In a game on April 17, Luke broke a small bone in his leg.

It took him much of the summer to get back healthy, and even into the fall of his senior season, but he is back, and he is as good as ever.

“It was a slow start for Rayshon this year coming off the injury, but he got rolling about as we progressed through the season,” Negro said. “He just kept getting better, getting closer to 100%, and now that he is healthy, he is going to be ready to compete.”

It is not only about his ability that will make Luke competitive as a freshman, but it helps that he comes from a program like St. John Bosco.

“Rayshon can be coached tough and he knows what it takes to work hard. We coach our kids hard at St. John Bosco, so he will come out prepared for college.

“We run our program like a college, so not only will he go into Arizona with his ability as an offensive playmaker, but he will go in knowing what to expect from a coaching perspective.

“Rayshon will be ready and prepared to compete early.”

Luke chose Arizona over Louisville.
