Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch has landed his quarterback of the future from one of the state’s best as Chandler (Ariz.) Basha four-star quarterback Demond Williams Jr. has announced his pledge to the Wildcats.

Williams Jr. was formerly pledged to Ole Miss since Dec. 30 but decommitted from the Rebels on July 7.

Arizona was the fourth Division I program and first Power Five school to extend Williams Jr. an offer when they did so in January 2021. He’s visited campus multiple times since then including their home-opener last season against Mississippi State.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound signal-caller is the No. 300 overall prospect and No. 18 quarterback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Arizona.

Demond Williams Jr. currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $73K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Williams Jr. adding to a strong 2024 class for Arizona

After finishing with the No. 45 class during the 2023 recruiting cycle, the Wildcats are slightly ahead of that so far with their 2024 group.

Williams Jr.’s pledge makes him the 19th commitment so far and the fourth four-star recruit to commit to the Wildcats. Arizona landed its biggest win of the cycle on July 6 when top-30 EDGE Elijah Rushing, another in-state product, chose the Wildcats over Oregon, Notre Dame and Tennessee.

Long Beach (Calif.) Jordan running back Jordan Washington is the other four-star star commit in the class. He announced his pledge to the Wildcats on Jan. 12.
