Former Texas guard Courtney Ramey announces transfer destination

Texas transfer Courtney Ramey has committed to Arizona, he tells On3.
“I chose Arizona because of the history of their program and the relationship I developed with Coach (Tommy) Lloyd,” Ramey said to On3. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to play in the Pac-12 conference.”
Ramey ranks as a four-star transfer prospect according to On3’s transfer portal rankings.

The 6-foot-3 guard was a four-year starter for the Longhorns and averaged 10 points, 3.5 rebounds. 2.8 assists in his career.
Ramey becomes the fourth addition to Arizona’s 2022 recruiting class. He will align in the backcourt with Campbell transfer Cedric Henderson Jr. (14 PPG). Four-star seven-footer Dylan Anderson is also headed to Tuscon, as well as two international prospects — Filip Borovicanin from Serbia and Henri Veesaar from Estonia.

On3’s Jamie Shaw writes, Courtney Ramey adds some stability to the backcourt. Arizona loses 37 starts each between Dalen Terry and Benn Mathurin. Pelle Larsson is the only returning guard, or wing, who played any type of significant minutes (20.7), outside of starting point guard Kerr Kriisa.
Coming out of high school, Courtney Ramey — a Saint Louis native — was rated as a four-star prospect according to the On3 Consensus. Additionally, he ranked 50th nationally in the class of 2018. Ramey was originally committed to Louisville, before signing with Texas.
