Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek tweeted an apology on Tuesday to fans who had trouble getting into the stadium for the Razorbacks football opener against Cincinnati on Saturday.

Apparently, there were various hold ups with parking and quite long waits to get into the stadium once fans arrived at the gate. One fan replied to Yurachek’s tweet and said they got to the gate about 45 minutes before kickoff and only made it to their seats about five minutes after the game got going.

“Thank you to the nearly 75,000 Razorback fans who cheered us to victory last Saturday. It was great to see Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium packed once again! With near capacity crowed anticipated for the remainder of the season, I wanted to let you know that we are working to revise procedures to make stadium entry more efficient as well as address other issues involving travel to and from the game,” Yurachek said in statement, in part.

Yurachek continued: “I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced this past weekend and want to let you know that we will continue to take steps to enhance your gameday experience. Be on the lookout in the next few days, for additional information related to those efforts. Thank you again for your support and we look forward to seeing you again on Saturday! Go Hogs!”

Arkansas kicked off the season with a big-time matchup against Cincinnati, fresh off a playoff berth. The Razorbacks will be hosting SEC opponent South Carolina come this Saturday. By that point, Yurachek hopes some of the issues from Week 1 will be ironed out. If not, he can probably expect another round of complaints as around 75,000 people once again try to fill Razorback Stadium to watch Arkansas kickoff another SEC campaign.
